Faster, cleaner, better…

This upgrade has been long overdue, but there are a lot of other things to consider. The blog is now powered by WordPress. I did consider a new version of Drupal, but WordPress seemed a lot cleaner and more widely supported.

Pictures and albums are now on Flickr.com. ImageShack.us was not really managing my gigabytes of pictures too well and my decision to self manage the pictures backfired.

There have been some posts that have been brewing in my head, but have been put off waiting for this upgrade to happen. So now that it has happened, they will see the light of day fairly soon.

Restricted access to albums

I had some free time this weekend so I spent the time learning Drupal API and rolled out a restricted access module. Most images in my albums with pictures of my family, friends and me will have restricted access. Writing a drupal module was not as hard as I thought it would be and took me only one day to write with other dependencies.

This was a much needed module. I was never happy with the fact that some unknown person out there could have such a close eye on my private life. I'm not so sure my friends would have liked it as well. My friends/family will get URLs that will log them in automatically. This way i'm keeping the hastle down to a minimum.

Hello world. This is my very first blog entry. This the place where I try and show how clever I am. Whether I actually am, is something that I will let you decide. Whenever I am bored and have time to spare, I will put some tit-bits and thoughts on 3D graphics, game programming, my other interests and hobbies and my personal life in hope that it be useful to some stray visitor.
